Goat Farm

Today I will be throwing some of my pieces into a shoot at the Goat Farm in Altanta.

The Goat Farm Artist Community - Creative Workspace & Artist Studios. West Midtown Atlanta. Sprawling complex of historic buildings. 12 acres. Historic cotton gin factory. Built in 1889. Unique (Raw) Gallery / Showroom Space on site. Unpaved internal streets originally scaled for the horse and buggy. Community gathering porches / vast green-space. Located in the Design District seconds to Midtown. Heavy timber interior structures. Some with kitchen and bathrooms. Event space for lease. Industrial storage space available also. Entire property available for film & photo/video shoots. Fresh Roots Urban Farm Project now open as well. A "pick and cut" yourself organic farm on-site.

This shoot is for the Green Shirt Brigade, a group of photographers from the Atlanta Photographers Guild who have entered and won the "shot of the week" contest. It is going to be a casual, fun, shoot with several photographers. I am bringing about 8 pieces to possibly put in to the shoot - but I am sure they will not all get shot.

Trash the dress recap

My personal trash the dress shoot was this past saturday night and it was a huge success but with some MAJOR bumps along the way. We ended up having to change locations last minute due to an issue with doing the graffiti, but the location we ended up at was definitely raw and edgy.

For right now, I can only give some behind the scenes sneak peak photos that I took with my digital camera. From top to bottom: (first picture) An awesome graffiti piece of my brand Rock Cherry Bomb, it is about 15'x15'.
(second picture) The girls and I, I am showing them some poses to do. (third picture) An over view of most of the set - shows what a crazy environment we were in. (last picture) Beth, Rachel, and I striking a quick pose - and probably one of the few photos where you can actually see our make up.

I want to thank everyone that helped out and made the shoot a success. Thank you to my husband, Dale, for shooting everything; Rachel and Beth for being beautiful and modeling my clothing; Gretchen for doing hair and make up; Adam for being the best behind the scenes/lighting help ever! Including breaking into our car when we locked the keys in it!; And thank you to the un-named graffiti artist. More pics and video to be launched soon. I am hoping to have a teaser photo in a day or so.

Shoot this weekend - Trash the dress/ ROCK CHERRY BOMB

This Saturday I will be shooting with a trash the dress shoot for me. For those of you that have never heard of Trash the dress, it is a style of photography that contrasts elegant clothing with an environment in which it is out of place. I will be wearing MY actual wedding dress and trashing it in the graffiti filled Krog street tunnel in Atlanta (pictured above). There might even be some spray painting involved - stay tuned for the photos to come!

On top of the trash the dress shoot, we will be having a mini fashion shoot. A couple of my former Rock Cherry Bomb models will be coming back to rock two new designs.

I am super excited to see what will come out of this shoot and I am excited to work with a new photographer. My husband, Dale Heinlein, will also be shooting a behind the scenes video that will be posted at a later date.

Local Love recap

Local Love was a few days ago. This was my first fashion show and it was a HUGE success. I think I am finally recovered from the craziness it took to pull this show off. Everything went fabulous and $3,400 was raised for Hats for Hearts.

I want to thank everyone involved for making this event a success. Thank you models : Zoe, Orelon, Mary Beth, Elizabeth, and Neta. Thank you to the other designers: Sarahlou, So She Sews, and Patina. Thank you as well to all of my friends and family that came out to support me.

Here is one of the pictures of me and my models that surfaced already. More professional pictures to come soon.
